MEET Program: YES and FLEX Alumni held two media competence training for high school students from Kosovo and Serbia

During March, ten YES and FLEX program alumni held media competence workshops for their peers - high school students from Kosovo and Serbia. These workshops were part of the MEET program which is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Serbia and jointly administrated by American Councils offices in Pristina and Belgrade. Twenty-one high school Albanian and Serbian speaking students met virtually to learn about citizen journalism, fake news and propaganda, cybersecurity, and also to learn about each other.

Upon completion of the training, all participants were eager to share their impressions about the training - and all were happy to have the opportunity to be part of the program. One participant’s quote best sums up the importance of a program like MEET for our region - he said: The best was getting to know each other because the world is big and different opinions make you more mature and help you build personality. FLEX and YES alumni teams will continue holding MEET program webinars throughout April and May 2021.
